Teach with the British Council
The British Council Teaching Operation in Bratislava, Slovakia is recruiting a high-performing English teachers to teach adults and, in particular, young learners between the ages of 5 and 17 during the academic year and on our summer programmes.
Suitable candidates must have the right to work in Slovakia.
Short-listing is carried out based on knowledge, qualifications and experience as specified in the person specification section of the job description. We may also shortlist according to desirable competencies if we get a large pool of applications. Interviews are carried out assessing essential teaching skills, core behaviours and generic skills.
What qualifications do I need?
A proven track record in teaching English for different age groups (young learners aged 5 to 17 and adults) and on different courses (general English, business English, exams preparation) are essential. You must also have a first degree and a TEFL certificate qualification or equivalent. Successful candidates will be asked for three references and to apply for a UK and/or Slovak Criminal Record check. Those teachers with less than two years experience of teaching will be regularly observed and mentored.
